A humble, passionate, bold, and fearless child of God, Commissioner Cristina Reeves Eveillard was born on the enchanting San Andrés Island, located in the Caribbean, governed by Colombia, known for its stunning seven shades of blue sea water. She emigrated to the United States on June 15, 1985, bringing her vibrant spirit and determination along with her.
Eveillard graduated in the top 50 of her class from North Miami High School in 1989 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Florida International University (FIU) in 1995. Her early professional journey as a computer programmer demonstrated her tenacity and commitment to personal and professional growth. After a company relocation, she chose a path of independence and continued her pursuit of knowledge by taking an income tax course at H&R Block, where she met her husband, Claude Eveillard. In 1998, Cristina and Claude settled in West Park, FL, where they built a loving home and family. Cristina is a devoted mother to four children, Jezel Pole, Claudio Eveillard, Spencer Eveillard, and Franchette Eveillard, and a proud grandmother to Nola Graham. She is also mother-in-law to Simone Edwards and Leonard Graham.
Commissioner Eveillard’s community involvement is extensive and impactful. From initiating a Boy Scout troop at Watkins Elementary School in 2009 to serving as PTA President in 2015, she has consistently championed parental and community engagement. As president of the Miami Gardens Homeowners Association in 2017, her leadership was pivotal in addressing community concerns, which inspired her to run for public office. Despite initial setbacks in her bids for Mayor of West Park in 2020 and West Park Commissioner in 2022, her perseverance shone through. Her third campaign in 2024 was successful, and she was elected as West Park Commissioner, seat 4, on November 5, 2024, making history as the first person from San Andrés to hold office in the United States and the first to hold office in the Miami Gardens subdivision of West Park, FL.
Commissioner Eveillard brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to her community. She is a Notary Public, a Certified Tax Preparer, the Marketing Director of PHP Agency, Inc., an Insurance Broker specializing in Life & Health Insurance, a Retirement Consultant, and a Real Estate Broker. Her dedication extends to her church, New Testament Church of Christ, and her involvement in various community organizations, including the Friends of Carver Ranches Library and the Martin Luther King Committee. Commissioner Eveillard's journey is a testament to her unwavering faith, resilience, and dedication to her community.
