City Clerk / Public Information Officer
The City Clerk performs the following functions:
- The City Clerk serves as custodian of Public Records.
- Maintains official City records and documents including resolutions, ordinances, meeting minutes, bid documents, contracts, documents for the City Commission and Advisory Boards/Committees and other permanent records management in accordance with the City Charter and the laws of the State of Florida.
- Prepares agendas for City Commission and advisory committee meetings and hearings.
- Manages the City's records and maintains the City Charter in current form as to all amendments.
- Gives notice of public meetings and prepares minutes of meetings accordingly.
- Serves as the City's Elections Filing Officer.
2024 ELECTION INFORMATION
The City of West Park will hold a Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The election is held on the same date as the November General Election. The Commission Seats are staggered so that the entire Commission is not up for re-election at once.

Qualifying Period:
- Monday, June 10, 2024 at noon – Friday, June 14, 2024 at noon
Qualifying packets may be collected from the City Clerk’s Office at: City of West Park, City Hall, 1965 South State Road 7, West Park, FL 33023.
The 2024 Election Qualifying Packet is being provided directly to candidates who have announced their candidacy with the City of West Park. The qualifying packet is posted on the City’s website to afford all potential candidates the opportunity to qualify for an elected office.

Options for accepting CANDIDATE QUALIFYING documents are as follows:
- Make an appointment with the City Clerk’s Office to deliver qualifying documents, the filing fee, and the State assessment. Appointments with the City Clerk’s office can be made by calling 954-989-2688, Ext. 205 or by emailing the City Clerk at agrant@cityofwestpark.org. The City Clerk’s Office will schedule appointments throughout qualifying during normal business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
- Section 99.061(8), F.S., provides that a qualifying officer may accept and hold qualifying papers beginning 14 days prior to the first day of qualifying period, which is Tuesday, May 28, 2024, (NOTE: Monday, May 27, 2024, City Hall is closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday). Any documents submitted prior to the opening of the qualifying period will be secured until qualifying opens at 12 noon on June 10, 2024 until June 14, 2024, at noon. Documents will then be opened and reviewed in order of receipt. Candidates are to place them in a sealed envelope and arrange to have them delivered to the City Clerk’s Office through by USPS.
Pursuant to the City Code, to qualify to run for an open Commission seat, a person must have resided continuously within the City for at least one (1) year preceding the date of filing.
The City of West Park is governed by the City Commission consisting of five (5) members. The Mayor and Commissioners are elected at-large and the candidate with the highest number of votes wins the seat. City Elections are nonpartisan; i.e. candidates do not run as members of a particular party, and their individual party affiliations are not relevant to their position in City Government.
Pursuant to the City Charter, Elected officials serve for terms of (4) years.
